This scene is along the Tioga Pass east of Tuolumne Meadows. This lake is approx. 10,000 feet above sea level and peaks in the back are about 13,000 feet above sea level. This photo was shot Memorial Day weekend just after the road opens for traffic. I live at sea level and after about 4 hours being up this high I had no energy, had a really hard time catching my breath and struggled just to function. I called Patty from a pay phone at the ranger station and told her I was walking around in a Coors commercial. This is such a beautiful area, Yosemite is my favorite place in the Country and hope to one day move there. This is another photo that so far we have only done large and I have to apologize for the quality of the image on the web. In person this is so much better.
