This is the best place in Key West to watch the sunset and very few people know about it. Most people go to the port area where the sunset celebration is and watch the street performers. I love to do that too. There are some very entertaining performers there. It's just not a great place to take photographs. I spend a lot of time in the keys and am always looking for great areas to take sunsets. I got my map of Key West and figured out where the sun was setting for that time of year and found this great place in the park. There are a lot of marriage ceremonies here, it's booked up almost every weekend at sunset. I've been back to this place several times to watch the sunset and occasionally meet couples that were married here in years past that come back to watch the sunset on their anniversary. I'm glad there are more people out there like me that can understand and be drawn to the simple yet awesome beauty of the setting sun.
